Questions, answered

What is Atlas & Pin?

Atlas & Pin is a geography game for iPhone. You get a map with no labels and the name of a country, capital, city, ocean or landmark. Drop a pin where you think it is and see how close you came.

What can I learn with it?

All 195 countries, the continents and oceans, hundreds of world cities and capitals, and famous landmarks such as temples, palaces, ruins and national parks. Every place has facts you see after you drop.

How is it different from a normal geography quiz?

The map has no labels, so you find places by where they really are and build a mental map of the world instead of memorizing answers. Name it rounds show a country's outline and ask which country it is; everything else is you and the pin.

Is there a daily geography challenge?

Yes. A new Daily Challenge opens every day: ten places, five minutes, free. Everyone gets the same list, gets marks out of 100 and sees where they placed.

Is Atlas & Pin free?

The app is free to download. The Daily Challenge is free every day, and the pins you spend on the Journey refill over time. The Explorer Pack and pin packs are optional purchases.

How is it different from GeoGuessr or Worldle?

GeoGuessr drops you into a street scene and you work out where you are. Worldle shows a country's shape and you guess its name. In Atlas & Pin you get the name and a blank map, and you put the pin on the place yourself.

What is the best way to learn the countries on a map?

Practice finding them on a blank map. Looking at a labeled map feels like learning, but pulling a place out of your memory with no labels is what makes it stick. Start with the continents, then work through the countries one region at a time.

Do I need an account?

No. You can start as a guest from your first drop. Sign in with Apple, Google or email when you want your passport saved and your name on the leaderboard.

How do referral codes work?

Your 6-character code is on the Pins page under Invite a friend. When a friend enters it in their first week, at sign-in or under Redeem referral code on the Pins page, you both get free pins.

Is Atlas & Pin on Android?

Not yet. Atlas & Pin is made for iPhone and is coming soon to the App Store.

Can you find Japan?

Drop a pin and see how close you land. Be the first to know when Atlas & Pin is out.
